According to 2023 World Air Quality Report (the WAQ Report 2023), Mauritius is just one of the 10 countries that meet the World Health Organisation (WHO) annual PM2.5 guideline value of 5 μg/m3 (the “Guideline”).
Worryingly, the vast majority of the 134 countries and regions assessed in the WAQ Report 2023, fail to meet the Guideline. According to the WHO, air pollution is responsible for 7 million premature deaths across the globe every year.
The WAQ Report 2023 was created using real-time data captured by IQAir’s air quality monitoring programme. IQAir is a Swiss air quality technology company specializing in protection against airborne pollutants, developing air quality monitoring and air cleaning products. More information about the WAQ report 2023 can be accessed on the official website of IQAir by clicking HERE.
The findings of the WAQ Report 2023 uncovers yet another facet of Mauritius as an attractive destination for people wishing to enjoy a balanced and healthy lifestyle. It is no wonder that over the years, the island has witnessed an increasing demand from foreign nationals wishing to apply for the various occupation and residence permits that enable their holders to work and/or live in Mauritius.
At MITCO, we have a dedicated Relocation Desk that can advise and assist on the occupation/residence permit(s) best suited to our valued clients’ specific needs. Should you wish to know more about these permits and on how we can assist, please write to us on bd@mitcoworld.com
